About Mentally Flexible & Tom Parkes

Mentally Flexible is hosted by Tom Parkes LCSW. Tom is a clinician with Third Wave Psychotherapy PLLC,  practicing in Avon, Connecticut.

Tom is passionate about the process-based clinical approach, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) in his work with clients. He also loves running trainings for other mental health professionals to support the integration of ACT into their clinical practices.

Mentally Flexible is a place for meaningful conversation with authors, researchers, and mental health professionals on a range of topics. Many episodes focus on ACT while others are more broadly related to living a rich and full life.

Outside of therapy room and podcast studio, Tom is also a musician. The music you hear during the intro and outro of each episode is one of Tom's songs called, "Glimpse at Truth."
